NEW FUNSANI HOME MANAGER

We are really pleased to announce that we hired a new manager in December 2021 to oversee Funsani Home - a significant milestone in our aim to welcome a new generation of children to Funsani Home in early this year.

Joyce Mbimbi is a social worker with seven years experience working with children. Prior to joining Funsani, Joyce worked at Habitat for Humanity Zambia, were she was responsible for ensuring that the project activities being implemented at a community level aligned with the goals and mission of the broader organisation.

Joyce graduated from Cavendish university in Zambia in 2019 with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work and was trained in child safeguarding policies as well as networking with local child protection systems by Kinder not Hilfe in 2017.

On why she loves working with children, Joyce had this to share:

"Every child is different and part of what I love about my job is that I get to help each one discover their own strength and talents and nurture these traits.”

Joyce lives in Ndola, not far from Funsani Home in Kitwe, is married, and has two children.

We are really excited for this new chapter of Funsani during its platinum anniversary year. With the work of Joyce and continued efforts by both the UK and Zambian board, we look forward to welcoming new children and continuing Funsani’s mission to provide a safe and caring environment for vulnerable children affected by HIV.
