Funsani stands in solidarity with the #BlackLivesMatter movement. All around the world people are standing up for the belief that access to opportunity and freedom from persecution should not be influenced by race, class, or background.
We continue to be inspired by this awakening, because at its heart, this is what Funsani's mission and work has always been about.
We strive to create a safe environment and opportunities for children from disadvantaged backgrounds within a country that is still grappling with its colonial past and even today continues to be exploited by more industrialised nations.
We are proud to have supported children over the last two decades and provided them with opportunities to excel in life. We have watched proudly as our children have grown into young adults who have graduated from university, become incredible musicians, and even fundraise for others in their community who are less privileged than themselves.
We thank all of our supporters who have stood in solidarity with these children over many years, and shown that race, class, and even geographic distance is no barrier to compassion and empathy.
