Trips

TRAVEL TO FUNSANI.

Funsani has previously coordinated trips to Zambia to visit the orphanage and our partner projects. Trips have been organised for students, gap year students, and adult groups. We see these trips as an opportunity for you to not only witness the work we do first-hand, but to also immerse yourself in Zambian culture and experience Africa’s wildlife and natural beauty.

These trips have been running since 2011 and we are able to organise trips to accommodate interests. If you would like to organise a group trip, please get in touch!

The below activities have been included in previous trips.

FUNSANI HOME

Kitwe, Zambia

Visit our orphanage, Funsani Home, where you will help with homework, gardening, and immerse yourself in day-to-day Zambian life.

MAANU MBWAMI

Livingstone, Zambia

Volunteer at our partner school - Maanu Mbwami - in the form of teaching, gardening, and renovation work. In previous years we have painted a classroom, relayed concrete floors, and supported a sanitation project.

EDEN FARM

Chingola, Zambia

You are also welcome to help out at a local agricultural farm, which has a partnership with Funsani

VICTORIA FALLS

Zambezi River, Livingstone, Zambia

Zambia is the proud host of one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World - the Victoria Falls. Previous trips have included a day at the falls, named Mosi-Oa-Tunya - the Smoke That Thunders, where you are able to appreciate the picturesque beauty of the great waterfall.

KITWE HOSPITAL

Kitwe, Zambia

There is also an opportunity to take part in medical work experience at Kitwe Central Hospital, with whom we have a strong relationship and would be more than happy to accommodate any prospective medical students or volunteers.

KIAMBI CAMP

Lower Zambezi, Zambia

Located on the Lower Zambezi, Kiambi Camp is a pearl that remains undiscovered. The Zambezi is the river from which Zambia gets its name. By canoeing a part of the 2,500 km river you are able to observe animals, such as elephants, monkeys, crocodiles and hippos in their natural habitat and get in touch with nature by camping overnight on an island in the middle of the river.
